The Quest for the Dark Planet deep space Marauders!

Marauding Bandits are among many of the hazards of deep space travel. These space pirates are comprised of both human and alien renegades that reside in obscure bases hidden in small moons, debris feilds and asteroid belts!

The most common Marauder ships tend to be small one pilot attack fighters. They always travel in pairs during recon missions within communications of their larger carrier Base ships. Flying just outside the shipping and transport scanners, these Marauding Bandits tend to attack larger vessels from behind the protection of space debris and asteroids. Charging in from out of no where, they fire upon the larger ships to assess the vulnerablilities of their shields and armaments and then quickly dart off to a safe range to radio in to their base ships. The larger Base ships usually in close range of the target, come in for the "booty" while the smaller Marauder ships scurry off to the safety of their hidden bases!

Payara class Raiders have a distinct "fish like" profile to them towards the goal of making the ships appear "Alien-Like" to confuse alien attack forces. These particular fighters were designed towards the end of the 2nd Alien/ Alliance war with Some of the fighters being captured near Xyrene space and subsequently sold off to renegade pirate factions after the Human pilots were detained.
